We’ve met many interesting and intelligent people while we’ve been working on the Homeland initiative, but in many ways Wei-Jen stood out. I can remember several instances during Wei-Jen’s interview when I was blown away by her intelligence. So I was surprised when she eventually revealed to us that there was one subject that absolutely baffled her.

After a long sleepless journey to D.C., and experiencing some colorful characters at the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear, we were glad to reunite with our fellow riders and hear their perspectives on the rally since we had been separated from them during the actual event.
Road to the Rally: I Want You to Be Afraid…
After discovering how refreshingly open all of our fellow bus passengers were when it came to discussing immigration, we couldn’t help but be hopeful that the rally would bring even more of the thoughtful discussion we had enjoyed on the way. This hopeful spirit was contagious throughout the bus as the monuments and iconic government buildings of D.C. began to appear outside the windows in place of the sprawling highway we had all become so accustomed to.
