Ali and Islam

Over the past several months we’ve had the pleasure of working with young refugees from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Nepal, Iraq, Bosnia, and Somalia. They took a Nine Academy class, learning how to use Flip cameras and edit video using Final Cut Express. After learning the skills necessary to create a video, they each told their story on-camera and made a video about their lives.

In this video, brothers Ali and Islam talk about some of the cultural differences between Iraq and America–for example, how women dress here versus how they dress in Iraq.

Take a look at what Ali and Islam have to say–what do you think? How difficult is it to acclimate when two cultures are so vastly different?
